### Beginning with Al-Ikhlas Surah Al-Ikhlas is one of the most concise chapters of the Qur’an describing who Allah is. It declares His oneness, His uniqueness, and that He is free of all need from His creation. This Surah teaches us how to think about Allah: He is One, there is nothing comparable to Him, and no being is equal to Him. For anyone who seeks to know Allah and worship Him, this short Surah presents the foundation of Tawhid with clarity and strength. **Al-Ikhlas 112:1–4** ### Al-Ikhlas **قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ** Say (O Muhammad ﷺ): "He is Allâh, (the) One." **اللَّهُ الصَّمَدُ** "Allâh-us-Samad (السيد الذي يصمد إليه في الحاجات) [Allâh the Self-Sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need, (He neither eats nor drinks)]." **لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ** "He begets not, nor was He begotten." **وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ** "And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him." ### A Short Reflection Surah Al-Ikhlas places Tawhid at the heart of knowing Allah. Allah is One, free of all need, and nothing is comparable or equal to Him. The Tawhid taught by this Surah is not merely a statement of belief.
